Step By Step Instructions

To replace the ice bucket auger in your refrigerator open the freezer door and pull out the ice bucket.

Use a phillips-head screwdriver to unthread the screws securing the cover.

Lift the cover up from the bottom to remove.

Next, unthread the screw to release the shield.

Flip the bucket over and remove the screw securing the actuator arm bracket.

Unhook the spring so you can detach the arm from the ice deflector.

Use a flat-head screwdriver to depress the retaining tabs to release the auger assembly.

Now detach the e-clip and remove the washer.

You can now lift off the housing.

Use an adjustable wrench to loosen the bearing retainer by rotating it clockwise.

Unthread the retainer.

Note the orientation of the auger components then remove them.

Once the blade components are detached, you can remove the cover plate from the old auger.

You’re now ready to install the new ice bucket auger.

With the cover plate’s raised edge facing the rear of the auger, slide the plate on first.

Now align the blades and spacers in the correct order on the new auger.

With the components in place, rethread the bearing retainer and tighten.

Now properly align the auger assembly blades in the housing.

Replace the washer and secure the e-clip.

Make sure the cover plate is in place then align the assembly in the ice bucket and snap it into position.

Insert the actuator arm into the ice deflector.

Properly realign the bracket between the tabs on the arm and secure it with the screw.

Reposition the spring.

Replace the shield and rethread the screw to secure.

Hook the cover back onto the ice bucket.
