Step By Step Instructions

As with any repair, you should unplug the appliance before beginning.

To replace a horizontal spring on your washer, you should first secure the lid with tape.

Now insert a putty knife under the main top to release the two spring clips.

Lift up the main top and support it.

Next, remove the mounting screws at the bottom of the front panel.

Push the panel down and pull it away from the frame.

Now pull the tub down to release the tension on the spring you’re going to replace and remove the old spring from the tri-base.

Install the new spring by first attaching the hook end to the tri-base.

Pull the tub down and hook the straight end onto the bracket.

Replace the front panel by aligning the tabs on the panel with the slots in the frame then lift the panel up.

Replace the mounting screws to secure.

Remove the support lower the main top and snap it into place.

Then remove the tape securing the lid.

You’re now ready to plug the power cord back in and confirm that the washer is functioning properly.
