Step By Step Instructions

As with any repair, you should unplug the appliance before beginning.

To replace the capacitor on your washer, you should first use tape to secure the lid.

Now, insert a putty knife under the main top to release the two spring clips.

Lift up the main top and support it.

Next, remove the mounting screws at the bottom of the front panel.

Push the panel down and pull it away from the frame.

Remove the mounting screws to release the motor shield.

Next, disconnect the wires from the capacitor and pull the capacitor and shield out of the washer cabinet.

Remove the tapes securing the old capacitor and pull the capacitor off of the shield.

Install the new capacitor by aligning it on the shield and snapping it into place.

Secure it with tape.

Connect the wires to the new capacitor.

Reposition the motor shield and secure it with the mounting screws.

Replace the front panel by aligning the tabs on the panel with the slots in the frame.

Then, lift the panel up.

Replace the mounting screws to secure.

Remove the support, lower the main top, and snap it into place.

Then, remove the tapes securing the lid.

You're now ready to plug the power cord back in and confirm that the washer is functioning properly.
