Step-By-Step Instructions1
Before you replace the throttle trigger on your string trimmer, make sure the engine has cooled.
2
We recommend performing this procedure with little or no fuel in the tank.
3
Using a T20 Torx bit, unthread the four screws securing the throttle housing.
4
Separate the two halves of the housing and, if still intact, detach the old trigger from the throttle cable.
5
Install the new throttle trigger.
6
Confirm that the throttle cable is positioned in the housing.
7
You can use a clamp to hold the housing in place as you insert the throttle cable into the new trigger.
8
If necessary, realign the spring, then align the trigger so the end of the spring inserts into the hole in the trigger.
9
Reposition the lockout lever if required, then realign the two halves of the housing.
10
Re-thread the screws to hold the assembly together.
11
Refill the fuel tank if necessary, and your string trimmer should be ready for use.
