Step By Step Instructions

Before you replace the muffler on your engine first make sure the engine and muffler have cooled.

Next, you should remove the wire and boot from the spark plug to prevent the engine from accidentally starting.

Use a 5/16th inch socket or nut driver to unthread the mounting screws securing the muffler.

Detach the old muffler and rotate to release it from the choke link.

Prepare the new muffler for installation by transferring the guard from the old muffler to the new one. Be aware you will need to use the 5/16th inch socket or nut driver to remove and thread the top screw and a quarter-inch socket or nut driver to remove and thread the screws on the left and right sides.

With the guard in place, hook the choke link onto the choke as you position the new muffler.

Thread and tighten the mounting screws to secure.

With the repair completed reattach the wire and boot to the spark plug and your engine should be ready for use.
