Step By Step Instructions

Before you replace the bottom panel light socket in your microwave oven first unplug the power cord.

Now remove the mounting screw and detach the light lens cover from the bottom panel.

Unthread the light bulb.

Next, release the bottom panel by using a phillips-head screwdriver to unthread the mounting screws.

Note the orientation of the turntable motor wires then slide off the insulators.

Depress the locking tabs to disconnect the wires and you can lower the panel.

Note the orientation of the light socket wires then depress the locking tabs to disconnect the wires.

Unthread the mounting screw to remove the old socket.

Install the new light socket by positioning it on the light housing then secure it with the mounting screw.

Connect the wires to the appropriate terminals.

Reconnect the turntable motor wires to the appropriate terminals and slide the insulators over the terminals.

Lift up the bottom panel and secure it with the screws.

Thread the light bulb into the new socket.

Insert the light lens cover tab into the slot on the bottom panel then lift up the cover and replace the mounting screw to secure.

With the repair completed, plug the power cord back in and confirm that the new socket is working.
