Step By Step Instructions

Before you replace the fuel shut-off valve on your generator first make sure the engine has cooled then remove the wire and boot from the spark plug to prevent the engine from accidentally starting.

We recommend performing this procedure with no fuel in the tank.

Use pliers to release the retaining clamp securing the fuel line to the shut-off valve and pull the line off.

Now use a 14 mm wrench to help unthread the old shut-off valve from the fuel tank.

Prepare the new fuel shut-off valve for installation by positioning the locking nut approximately a half-inch from the end of the threads.

Now thread the new valve into the fuel tank then tighten the nut to secure.

Attach the fuel line to the new valve and secure it with the retaining clamp.

Reattach the wire and boot to the spark plug fill the tank with fuel and your generator should be ready for use.
