Step By Step Instructions

Before you replace the ignition wire terminal on your string trimmer first make sure the engine has cooled.

Next, remove the wire and boot from the spark plug to prevent the engine from accidentally starting.

Now remove the screws securing the engine cover and pull the cover off.

Consider applying liquid dish soap or rinse aid to the boot to make it easier to pull it off of the terminal wire.

If still intact, remove the old terminal from the wire.

You’re now ready to install the new ignition wire terminal.

Position the terminal and insert the hook into the hole in the wire.

Use pliers to secure.

Apply additional dish soap if necessary and slide the boot over the terminal.

Reposition the engine cover and reinstall the screws to secure it.

Clean out any excess soap from the boot then attach it to the spark plug and your string trimmer should be ready for use.
