Washer won't agitate

Since a washing machine's main control board provides voltage to nearly all of the washer's electrical components, a faulty board may not be sending power to the drive motor during the wash cycle, resulting in the washer not agitating. If power is not reaching the drive motor, you should first confirm the lid or door switch test properly with a multimeter. If the control board continues to send power to the water inlet valve during the drain cycle, the dishwasher could overflow. While this is not that common of a problem, you can inspect the board for signs of burning or a shorted-out component. You can also use a multimeter to test the water inlet valve for incoming power during the dishwasher's cycle.

Washer door or lid won't lock/unlock

The main control board may be defective. However, this is rarely the case. Before replacing the main control board, first check all of the components of the lock mechanism. If none of these parts are defective, consider replacing the main control board.
