Frigidaire lint filter. This catches lint from your cloths during drying cycles

The lint filter might be clogged. Dryer sheets and fabric softener can leave a residue on the lint filter, reducing the air flow. If the lint filter is clogged, clean it. Confirm the lint filter housing and grille, if applicable, are free of lint build up as well.

Dryer overheating

A broken lint filter can allow excess lint to clog the air duct or lint filter housing, resulting in the dryer overheating. Inspect the lint filter for holes or other damage and replace if necessary.

Dryer won't stop

The lint filter might be clogged. Dryer sheets and fabric softener can leave a residue on the lint filter, reducing the air flow. If the lint filter is clogged, clean it.

Dryer damaging clothes

The lint filter is inserted into the filter housing to collect lint passing through the air duct. If the filter is damaged and not seated properly, clothes can get caught and tear on the filter. Inspect the filter for any damage and replace the part if necessary
