Restore proper function with this replacement door switch, part number 316209902, for select Frigidaire or Kenmore Range/Stove/Oven models.

Many oven lights are controlled by a door switch that is activated when the door is opened or closed. To determine if the switch is defective, use a multimeter to test it for electrical continuity when actuated. If the door switch does test appropriately for continuity, replace it.

Oven not self-cleaning

A defective door switch may prevent the oven door from locking. The door switch is often part of the circuit that causes the oven door to lock during the self-cleaning cycle. If the oven door is unable to lock, the self-cleaning cycle will not start. To determine whether the door switch is defective, use a multimeter to test it for continuity. If the door switch does not have continuity, replace it.

Oven light not turning off

On some models, the door switch controls when the oven light is turned on and off. If the door switch has shorted the light may stay on. You can test the switch for continuity with a multimeter. If the switch shows continuity even in the off position, the switch has shorted and will need to be replaced.

Oven meat thermometer not working

Some oven meat thermometers will not function properly unless the oven door is closed which activates a door switch to alert the control board that the door is closed. If the door switch is defective, the oven meat thermometer may not work. To determine if the switch is defective, use a multimeter to test it for electrical continuity when actuated. If the door switch does test appropriately for continuity, replace it.

Oven door won't unlock/locks intermittently

A defective door switch may prevent the oven door from unlocking or only locking intermittently. If you can't hear the door lock motor running when the self-clean button is pressed, use a multimeter to test the door switch for electrical continuity. If the door switch does not test positive for continuity when the plunger is pressed, the component should be replaced.

If you want to replace the broiler pan instead, we offer one called the Broiler Pan and Insert. Control panel Most range/oven control panels are glass and/or painted metal. You can safely use non-abrasive cleaners on these surfaces. We offer a wide selection of range/stove/oven cleaner and deodorizer parts. Note: Never spray cleaners directly onto the control panel. Instead, put some cleaner on a soft, damp rag, then wipe the surface. Cooktop: You can clean any porcelain cooktop with a non-abrasive cleanser.
