Frigidaire Washer is making loud noise
When your Frigidaire washer is making loud noise, start with the simplest cause: shipping bolts or the foam block may still be installed, especially if the washing machine is new. Remove the bolts from the rear of the washer and confirm the foam block has been removed before running a cycle. If the washer loud when spinning continues, a worn tub bearing is a common cause of a washing machine making noise when spinning. A defective tub seal and bearing kit can create the same noise and may also cause water to leak from the bottom of the tub. The rear drum with bearing, or a separate washing machine bearing, may also be damaged. These repairs require substantial disassembly, and replacing the outer tub and bearing assembly may be the recommended solution when available. Finally, check for an improperly balanced load. Mixing heavy and lightweight items, or washing too few items, can make the tub shake and create a noisy washing machine. If the washer is noisy during the spin cycle or is leaking from the bottom of the tub near the transmission, the tub seal and bearing are likely defective. Replacing the tub bearing is a very involved repair and will require disassembling most of the washer. 04 - Frigidaire Washing Machine Rear Drum with Bearing
The rear drum has a bearing or bearings in it to keep the inner tub spinning smoothly. If the tub bearing system is defective the washer can become very noisy. On some machines bearings are sold separately from the rear drum, however we recommend replacing both the outer drum and bearing as an assembly if the manufacturer offers the components together because removing and pressing in the new bearing can be exceptionally difficult.
