04 - Clogged Screens in Fill Hose or Water Inlet Valve
All water valves have filter screens to prevent particles from clogging the valve or stop the valve from closing. For added protection and easier access, some fill hoses may have screens added to the hose washers/gaskets where the fill hose connects to the homes hot or cold shut-off valve. The screens in the water valve and hoses should be checked and cleaned if necessary. Unplug the machine. Turn off the water supply valves. Get a bucket to catch the remaining water in the hoses. Unthread the hoses from your machine and clean any debris from the filter screens.

05 - Fill hoses reversed
If the fill hoses are not connected to the appropriate valve faucets or ports (one hose connecting the cold water supply valve to the washer's cold water inlet valve port and the other hose connecting the hot water supply valve to the hot water inlet valve port), the wash and rinse water temperatures will be reversed. Check that the fill hoses are connected correctly. There are usually markings next to the water inlet valve connections for the hot (H) and cold (C) designations.

06 - Washing Machine Temperature Control Switch
The temperature control switch switches power to either the cold or hot solenoid on the water supply valve to maintain the proper water temperature. If the temperature control switch is defective the water inlet valve may not receive the proper voltage to work properly. If the temperature control switch is not sending proper voltage to the water inlet valve solenoids it will need to be replaced.
A defective water inlet valve may only be allowing one temperature of water to fill the tub. In addition, some water inlet valves will have a temperature sensor built in to determine whether more hot or cold water should be released to maintain an appropriate water temperature in the tub.
