Universal Washer controls don't work
When a washer controls are not working, first determine whether the entire display or timer is dead or only one control fails. A damaged power cord is the most likely cause when the washing machine won't turn on or the washer has power but won't start. Inspect the cord for breaks, burn marks, blackened terminals, or exposed wires. If the cord looks sound, a blown line fuse or washer fuse may have interrupted power. Test each fuse for electrical continuity with a multimeter and replace it if it has no continuity. When the display works but a setting will not change, inspect the selector knob, timer knob, or control knob. A cracked or stripped knob can slip on the switch or timer stem instead of engaging it, making the washer control panel not work correctly. Less commonly, the timer, control board, user interface board, wire harness, or ribbon cable may be faulty. Disconnect power before testing or replacing parts.
