Universal Cooktop not working
If your Universal cooktop is not working, not turning on, or completely dead, start by checking the incoming power before replacing any parts. The electrical outlet may not be supplying power, especially if the cooktop has no lights, heat, or response from the controls. Because most electric cooktops are hardwired to a 240-volt circuit and do not use a standard outlet, check the power connection at the circuit breaker or fuse panel. Reset any tripped breaker or replace any blown fuse. A disconnected power supply can make a cooktop appear to have a failed control panel, surface element, infinite switch, or main control board, but those parts cannot operate without electricity. If the outlet has power and the Universal cooktop still will not start, additional testing may be needed to check the power cord, terminal block, wire harness, control board, or touchpad. Always disconnect power before inspecting wiring or removing panels. Enter your model number to find the exact replacement part for your specific cooktop, range, stove, or oven and to confirm compatibility before ordering.
