Tools needed: locking pliers, socket wrench, pliers
Step-By-Step Instructions1
Before you begin this repair, make sure the engine has cooled remove the wire and boot from each spark plug

Then loosen the bolts securing the battery cables and disconnect them; black first, then red.

Your next step is to use locking pliers or a clamp to close-off the fuel supply line.

Now use a socket to remove the mounting screws to release the old fuel pump.

Use pliers to release the fuel line clamps.

Install the new fuel pump by transferring the fuel lines from the old pump to the new one.

Be prepared for some gasoline to spill out.

Once transferred, secure the lines with the clamps.

Mount the new pump onto the blower housing and secure the screws.

Release the locking pliers or clamp.

With the new fuel pump in place, you can now reconnect the battery cables red first, then black.

Tighten the bolts and reattach the wire and boot to each spark plug.
