The most common reason for replacing a shock absorber is if it is broken, which causes the washer to vibrate more than usual, though the most common cause of washer vibration is that the leveling legs are not properly adjusted.
All of the information in this shock absorber kit installation video is applicable to the following brands: Frigidaire, Kenmore, Crosley, Gibson, Westinghouse, Electrolux
Tools used: multi-screwdriver, Phillips head bit, pliers, deep well 6 point 1/2” socket, flat-head bit

As with any repair, be sure you unplug the appliance before beginning

Shut off the water supply.

To replace the shock absorbers in your washer, first remove the hot and cold water supply lines from the inlet valve – be prepared for some water to spill out.

Next, remove the screws securing the rear panel.

Remove the screws securing the motor control board housing to the base.

Pull the housing back to move it out of the way.

Now use a deep well 6-point half-inch socket to depress the tab to release the lower mounting pins securing the shock absorbers and use pliers to help pull the pins out of the shock mounts.

Repeat the procedure for the upper pins.

You will need to detach the air chamber from the outer tub to be able to release the upper right mounting pin.

With the pins removed you can fully detach the old shock absorbers.

Install the new shock absorbers by positioning them in the shock mounts with the plunger shafts facing downward.

Then snap in the upper and lower mounting pins to secure.

Secure the air chamber to the outer tub

Reposition the motor control board by inserting the housing tab into the slot in the base.

Replace the screws to secure.

Realign the rear panel and secure the screws.

Reattach the hot and cold water supply lines to the inlet valve.

You’re now ready to turn the water supply back on plug the power cord back in and confirm that the washer works properly.
