Humidifier not getting water

Power systems with this genuine OEM transformer, part number TRR01104, compatible with select Trane Humidifier, Packaged Unit/RTU, Heat Pump, or Air Handler.

Some furnaces have a separate transformer to provide 24 volts to the humidifier. If the water inlet valve is not receiving 24 volts and the contacts in the humidistat are closing as expected, it's likely the transformer has failed and the component will need to be replaced.

Humidifier drum won't turn

Some furnaces have a separate transformer to provide voltage to the humidifier to turn the drum. If the humidifier is not receiving the proper voltage, but the contacts in the humidistat are closing as expected, it's likely the transformer has failed and the component will need to be replaced.

A furnace or air handler transformer is the component that decreases or increases the incoming voltage to power the unit. A faulty transformer can prevent the unit from heating. If there is no secondary 24 volt power to the thermostat, the unit trips a circuit breaker when it comes on, or you hear a consistent humming or vibrating noise, it's possible the transformer has failed.

The control board sends a low voltage signal of 24 volts to the contactor. When the contactor receives the signal from the control board, it closes the circuit, sending voltage to the outside unit components. Some air handlers have a separate transformer for the 24 volt circuit, so if the contactor is not receiving the proper voltage, it's likely this transformer has failed and the component will need to be replaced.

The unit's control board sends a low voltage signal of 24 volts to the thermostat. When the thermostat's contacts close, a 24 volt signal is sent to the appropriate unit and components. Some furnaces or air handlers may have a separate transformer for the 24 volt circuit. If the transformer has the proper input power but no 24 volt output to the thermostat the transformer will need to be replaced.
