Gas stove burner won't light

This is a genuine replacement part. Surface Burner Cap 316010901 Frigidaire gas burner control valve.

If the surface burner cap is warped or damaged, it will not align on the burner base which may prevent the igniter from sparking properly to light the burner. Confirm the appliance is turned off and the stovetop is cool to the touch, then inspect the burner cap for warping or corrosion and replace if required.

Gas stove burners spark all the time

The surface burner cap needs to be in good condition and positioned correctly on the burner base for the gas to be ignited. If the burner cap is rusty or damaged it will not make good contact with the burner base which can cause the burner to spark continuously without igniter the gas.

Gas Stove burner flames too high

A surface burner cap needs to be seated flat on the burner base for the flame to be evenly distributed. If a burner cap is tilted, the flames will be higher on one side than the other. If the cap is damaged, it will need to be replaced.

Instead, put some cleaner on a soft, damp rag, then wipe the surface. Cooktop: You can clean any porcelain cooktop with a non-abrasive cleanser.
