Dishwasher door gasket (or door seal). This door gasket creates a seal around the dishwasher to prevent water from leaking out. If the gasket is torn, the dishwasher will leak water.

Dishwasher won't latch

A damaged rack adjuster can cause the dishrack to not be seated properly on the rails which can prevent the dishwasher door from latching properly. Inspect the rack adjusters to confirm they are intact and not damaged. Replace any damaged rack adjusters with new ones and ensure the dishrack can be fully pushed into the dishwasher.

A dishwasher's upper dishrack will often have two rack adjusters, one on each side of the rack, that allow the dishrack to be raised or lowered to accommodate dishware of various sizes. A damaged or misaligned rack adjuster can prevent the dishrack from being slid in and out properly. Inspect both rack adjusters for any damage and make sure both are set at the same position. If an adjuster appears damaged, it should be replaced with a new one.
