Microwave shuts off after a few seconds

The Fan motor keeps the magnetron cool when the microwave is running. If the fan motor stops running the magnetron tube will overheat tripping the high limit thermostat, causing the microwave to shut off. If the fan is getting power but not running properly it will need to be replaced.

Microwave is loud or noisy

The fan motor bearings can wear out causing a rumbling or squealing noise. If the fan motor is making noise when its running it will need to be replaced.

Oven fan not working

If the fan motor's fan blades do not turn freely by hand, it's likely the motor bearings have seized and the fan motor will need to be replaced. You can also use a multimeter to determine if the motor has electrical continuity. If the motor has no electrical continuity, the part is definitely defective.

Range making a loud noise

The fan motor turns the fan blade to circulate the air. The fan motor is often sold as an assembly. If the fan motor bearings are bad, or the fan blade or blower is damaged, the fan motor will need to be replaced.
